Some insurance policies limit the amount of the time or sessions that you can receive therapy. Please contact your insurance carrier.
While I am not personally accepting insurance for therapy, I am accepting insurance clients through Alma and Rula. Please check to see if your insurance will cover your sessions. If you are covered by Alma, you can schedule a free consultation with me through Alma. If you are covered by Rula, please contact me.
For clients not using insurance, it is depends on your needs and progress. Generally, 12 sessions (it could be less too) is a good amount of time to reassess whether more therapy is needed, but life always throws a curveball. Also, during your sessions, you could discover other underlying issues that would require additional sessions to address. When this happens, your can continue to work on any new issues that have been discovered.

I highly recommend that you request any paperwork related to your depression, anxiety or trauma from your MD who knows your condition and your history. In order to fill out such paperwork, it is necessary to establish some time in order to credibly explain the need for the accommodation. I only fill out selected paperwork (not including disability paperwork) for my established clients who have completed at least 12 sessions or more with me because I will need to fully diagnosis them and see the progress of the therapy treatment and their willingness to comply with the treatment plans. I also charge my hourly fee for each letter.

My therapy approach primarily consists of asking a number of questions that will encourage you to reflect on your issues and further develop your underlying thoughts/core beliefs. I will give several homework strategies that you can do between sessions, but ultimately you will make you own decisions.

Although couples therapy is highly helpful and recommended, I am not providing couples therapy at this time. However, I can provide individual therapy to address relationship issues and help process your communication and emotional struggles. Also, I would recommend that you receive couples therapy from an experienced therapist if your partner is motivated to try it. It is helpful to receive both individual therapy and couples therapy to work on relationship issues depending on where you and your partner are at and what issues you are having.

I specialize in restorative yoga which helps your body and mind create conscious relaxation. A lot of poses will have you lying down with yoga props to assist your body and mind to rest. If you have difficulty lying down, we can discuss alternate poses you can do such as slow flow or the use of a chair for simple movement. Please consult with your health care practitioners if you have any medical/physical conditions or injuries or concerns.

Restorative yoga is a passive yoga practice that promotes relaxation and grounding in the mind and body by lying down and holding a specific pose for several minutes. Corps poses, Reclined Goddess Pose and Legs-up-the-wall pose are common restorative yoga poses and are some of my favorites. Often, yoga props are utilized so that you don’t have to concentrate on holding your body in position and instead, allow your body to be held by the earth.

Crystal bowl sound therapy is the showering of sounds and vibrations created by special crystal bowls while lying down comfortably in close proximity to them. The closer you are to the crystal bowls the more you will receive their benefits. Vibrations from Crystal bowls can neutralize the frequencies of our bodies and cells to reduce the stress that is stored within our bodies. The sounds produced by the Crystal bowls can bring us back to the Theta wave frequency which is the healing frequency energy that helps to induce a meditative state.

At this time, I am not providing Reiki only sessions and I am offering Reiki as an optional free add-on to restorative yoga sessions.
